About Me

At my first race ever!
Hi my name is Anita!  I used to weigh well over 250lbs.  Then I found running, it helped shed another 40 more pounds and closer to my goal weight.  Now I am totally addicted to running (and shopping for running gear)! The world of running helped me realize that I can do more than I ever thought I could. A whole new world has opened up to me and I can't wait to get out there an experience everything else the world has to offer!

Half Marathon #2!!!  Knocked over 25 mins off our first finish time!
For years I've struggled with my body image and self esteem.  Even now I still find it hard to see the new me when I look in the mirror.  But, when you have a guy as awesome as mine next always telling you how awesome you are and how proud of you he is.  It makes it all the better!  I still on my journey and have started to learn to love me and in doing so, I am the happiest I have ever been.  I only hope to spread the word of what healthy eating and exercise can do for you!  I understand how hard it is and it never gets easy. There are times I still find it hard to not still want a pint of Ben & Jerry's and there are times I go weeks without thinking of Ben or Jerry.

I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on the subject of weight loss and getting fit, but I want to share what works for me.  I want to share all the things that is helping me change my relationship with food and I want to share my life.  The good times and the bad, all the things that have brought joy to my life and the things I still struggle with.   I want to share all my lessons learned by trial and error. The things that worked and the things I downright can't believe people actually do on a daily basis.

I am so lucky to have finally found happiness with a man I love so much and that makes me a happy girl!

Race #2! With my Sweetie anything is possible, just having him by my side makes any race worth finishing!
I love knowing my Sweetie has my back!

He always has a shoulder to lean on!

Our little Yankee fan Lulu!
